There's too much going on around us and me in particular, and it didn't make me feel the need for happy stuff. But there's still a lot of humor left. Just painting around, this is what happened. One more example of what comes to light, if one let things happen without thinking too much.

But I really like the washy look and those ink effects. I hope you do, too. Let me know if you have comments and crits, please.
for some reason I only get to know women that scare me in a way. So one day I thought about a jellyfish, being beautiful from a distance but quite dangerous if you come too close. So here we go.

I spend way too much time on this, but I learned a lot. For the face I used a photo reference and I created a rough model for the body with poser.

I really hope you'll like it. Thanks for comments and crits, of course!
Weeks later I realized what I painted there. My ex-girl was no good for me. You can learn a lot from your images.

Thanks for all the nice comments.

Hi there,

this was a birthday present for my girl. I used painter and photoshop. All skin was made in painter and colorized in photoshop. the details like hair and eyes were completely done in photoshop.
for a focus on the face I used a ps-brush that matched the natural ink-with-brush-look best for the background and cloth. so I got a difference between the skin and all the rest by both the color and the style but i still fits.

by the way: this is the first picture I printed on large fine art-paper and it really rocks!

critics and comments are very welcome, of course. its colorizing a grayscale-image and getting skin look real that I really need a lot more experience in.

all the best,

A Dear Friend

Hi,
this is a portrait of a friend of mine. a present in poster-size.
I used a photo reference I took myself in the beginning. I left parts out, because I think it's more interesting to have something to imagine. I also didn't blend everything to death, because it's painted an not a 3D model.
She's a bit naive but a lovely and warm person. Hopefully this comes through in the painting.
Maybe someone's got a comment that would make it better.
Thanks for viewing.
I got a pencil-sketch flying around on my desk that I made when I was bored. I still liked it after weeks, so I decided to work it over with photoshop, but still having the sketch visible. Some parts are detailed, some are not and some I didn't touch at all.
